Slovenia Inflation Rate Steady at 5-Month Low of 1.4%
Slovenia's annual inflation rate remained unchanged at 1.4 percent in November 2019, its lowest level since May. Prices slowed mainly for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (2.1 percent vs 2.9 percent in October); recreation & culture (0.2 percent vs 0.8 percent) and clothing & footwear (0.5 percent vs 0.6 percent). Meantime, cost declined further for transport (-1.6 percent vs -0.9 percent). In contrast, prices rose faster for food & non-alcoholic beverages (2.4 percent vs 1.5 percent), pushed up by fruit (10.2 percent) and meat (4.5 percent); and miscellaneous goods & services (4.5 percent vs 3.4 percent), as the cost of private insurance connected with health increased (14 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent, the same pace as in the previous month.

Slovenia Inflation Rate Slows in October
Slovenia's consumer price inflation rate fell to 1.4 percent year-on-year in October 2019 from 1.7 percent in the previous month, as prices rose at a softer pace for food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.5 percent vs 1.7 percent); housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (2.9 percent vs 3.9 percent); recreation and culture (0.8 percent vs 2.2 percent); clothing and footwear (0.6 percent vs 2.3 percent); and miscellaneous goods and services (3.4 percent vs 3.5 percent). In addition, transport cost continued to decline (-0.9 percent vs -2 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent, after a 0.2 percent drop in September.

Inflation rate in Slovenia fell to 1.7 percent in September of 2019 from 2.3 percent in the previous month. It was the lowest inflation rate since May, as prices slowed for food & non-alcoholic beverages (1.7 percent vs 2.9 percent in August); housing & utilities (3.9 percent vs 4.9 percent) and clothing & footwear (2.3 percent vs 5.2 percent) while transport cost dropped further (-2.0 percent vs - 0.7 percent). On the other hand, prices advanced faster for recreation & culture (2.2 percent vs 2.1 percent) and miscellaneous goods & services (3.5 percent vs 2.0 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.2 percent after a 0.4 percent rise in the prior month.

Slovenia Inflation Rate Highest since 2013
The annual inflation rate in Slovenia rose to 2.3 percent in August 2019, the highest since July 2013, from 2.0 percent in the prior month. Main upward pressure came from food & non-alcoholic beverages (2.9 percent, the same pace as in July); housing & utilities (4.9 percent vs 4.8 percent) and recreation & culture (2.1 percent vs 2.0 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.4 percent, following a 0.7 percent decrease in the previous month.

The inflation rate in Slovenia rose to an eight-month high of 2.0 percent year-on-year in July 2019 from 1.8 percent in the previous month, as prices advanced faster for food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.9 percent vs 2.2 percent in June) and recreation & culture (2.0 percent vs 1.3 percent). On the other hand, transport cost continued to fall (-1.3 percent vs -0.9 percent) while housing & utilities prices went up at a softer pace (4.8 percent vs 5.2 percent). In addition, inflation was steady for miscellaneous goods & services (at 1.8 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices decreased 0.7 percent, after a 0.3 percent rise in the previous month.

The inflation rate in Slovenia rose to a seven-month high of 1.8 percent year-on-year in June 2019 from 1.4 percent in the previous month, as prices advanced faster for food & non-alcoholic beverages (2.2 percent vs 0.7 percent in May) and for recreation & culture (1.3 percent vs 0.7 percent). On the other hand, transport cost fell (-0.9 percent vs 0.3 percent) while prices went up at a softer pace for housing & utilities (5.2 percent vs 5.6 percent) and miscellaneous goods & services (1.8 percent vs 1.9 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.3 percent, after a 0.9 percent rise in May.
